Kay keen to highlight character

4 November 2014

Antony Kay pointed to the squad’s strong spirit as a key factor in Saturday’s superb 2-1 win over Swindon Town.

The centre-back fired home the winner as Karl Robinson’s men came from behind to secure the points at stadiummk – the second time in three league outings that the Dons have done so following the success over Fleetwood Town by the same scoreline.

“It shows the character of the lads – we are never defeated,” he told MK Dons Player. “We’ve shown it on a number of occasions this season.

“I’m pleased with the goal but the three points were more important. We knew before hand that it was going to be a tough game because Swindon are a good team, but we had a game-plan and it worked. The lads dug in and the energy levels were brilliant.”

He added: “We’ve got to keep taking it game by game rather than in blocks of three or four because that’s when you can go wrong.”
