Chadwick’s Cambridge lose first-leg

1 May 2014

Luke Chadwick and Cambridge United were beaten 1-0 by FC Halifax Town in the first leg of their Skrill Premier Semi-Final on Wednesday.

Shaymen striker Lee Gregory scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Josh Coulson was adjudged to have fouled Matthew Pearson in the area in the 81st minute.

Richard Money’s side, despite having several chances, weren’t able to find an equaliser and now have it all to do in Sunday’s second leg if they are to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Chadwick, making his ninth appearance for the U’s, started the match but was replaced by Lewis Dunk in the 71st minute.
