This weekend could see Luke Chadwick and his hometown team Cambridge United regain their Football League status.
"To see the club promoted, be any part of it, would be a dream come true," he told BBC Sport.
The playmaker has scored twice in nine appearances since joining the U’s on loan from the Dons in March.
After overcoming Halifax Town 2-1 on aggregate in the Skrill Premier play-off semi-final, Chadwick & co will travel to Wembley to take on Gateshead, who beat Grimsby Town 4-2 on the aggregate in the other semi-final.
"It will be a great day and a tense day. I just hope and pray we can get the result we need."
The U’s, who last competed in the Football League in 2005/06, kick off at 4pm on Sunday.
