Tom seals Stevenage loan switch

26 March 2014

Defender Tom Flanagan has joined Stevenage on loan until the end of the season.

Flanagan will go straight into the Boro squad ahead of their Sky Bet League 1 clash with Coventry City this evening.

The 22-year-old agreed the switch to Lamex Stadium earlier today and will join Graham Westley’s men for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.
The former Northern Ireland Under-21 centre-back, who recently penned a new one-year deal to remain with the Football Club, has been just limited to just six appearances for the Dons this season and will use the move to gain more match experience heading into next season.

Speaking to mkdons.com, Dons manager Karl Robinson said: “With his contract sorted, this move gives Tom the opportunity to go out and earn some valuable match experience at League 1 level.
“Next season will be a make or break one for him and if he goes into it with confidence, having played some games for Stevenage between now and May, then that will only benefit both parties.”
