Stopper seeks reaction at Stevenage

18 March 2014

Goalkeeper David Martin has called upon his team-mates to respond in the right manner after their 2-0 defeat to Peterborough United on Saturday.

The Dons head into this weekend’s clash with Stevenage six points adrift of the top-six but with the Posh facing a difficult trip to Rotherham, Robinson’s men have the ideal chance to reignite their play-off push.

“It was a shame because it was an opportunity missed but we’ve got to react now.” Martin told MK Dons Player. “We’ve still got nine games to go and all we need is to beat Stevenage next week and have Peterborough lose and we’re right back in it again.

“There are still games left and there are still points to win so hopefully we’ll be going into the last few games with something to play for but we’ve got to put this to bed as quickly as possible.

“I didn’t think there was much in the game. It’s frustrating because we can’t stand losing to Peterborough, one of our closest rivals, but it’s just one of those things now. They had that little bit of luck with the goal and getting the penalty which, in my opinion, wasn’t a penalty.

“Hopefully we can get them little breaks again. A lot of teams come here and just sit back so we’re trying to take a leaf out of their books now and try and play our football in the right areas.”
