Sanmi Odelusi insists the team are eager to ‘pick up the points they’ve dropped’ in their next few games.
The Bolton Wanderers’ loanee put in a man-of-the-match performance in his home debut on Saturday but couldn’t prevent MK Dons from suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat to an in-form Sheffield United side.
Had Karl Robinson’s men come out on top against the Blades they could have closed the gap on the play-off places to just three points but, instead, the men from MK1 remain in ninth heading into this weekend’s trip to Swindon Town.
And therefore Odelusi has called upon his team-mates to return to winning ways and regain their march on the top six. Speaking to the media, the 22-year-old said: “You’ll get some games where you should win and some where you don’t, that is how football is. We’re going to try and change that at Swindon.
“Hopefully over the next few games we can pick up the points that we’ve dropped. Every game from now until the end of the season is important and every single game we’re going to go out there with 100 percent effort and try and win some points.”
While hoping to see the side add to their points tally, Odelusi is also keen to force his way into Robinson’s starting XI having not yet made a start for the Club since moving from the Reebok Stadium in February.
The winger, though, is hopeful his standout display on Saturday can change that. He added: “Hopefully I can get a few more starts and show the fans what I can do.
“(Getting man of the match) did surprise me but it’s still nothing compared to what I feel I can bring to the team. The main thing for me now is to keep my head down, carry on working hard in training and, importantly, performing on the pitch.”
“I’m enjoying my time here and I’m enjoying playing for the gaffer and the way he works with the younger players. There’s not much difference between Championship level and League 1 and the facilities here in Milton Keynes are fantastic.”
