MK Dons’ young defender Brendan Galloway has been named LFE League 1 Apprentice of the Year at the Football League Awards 2014.
The second-year scholar saw off competition from Preston North End’s Josh Brownhill and Colchester United’s Samuel Szmodics to become the first MK Dons player to win the Apprentice of the Year award.
Galloway has made seven appearances for the first-team this season and scored his first senior goal in The FA Cup with Budweiser victory over FC Halifax Town in November. The youngster has also featured twice for England Under-18s.
Goalkeeper David Martin, meanwhile, finished as runner-up in the PFA Player in the Community Award race behind Sheffield Wednesday’s Reda Johnson.
Martin totalled over 40 appearances in support of community activities this past year and went the extra mile to initiate positive change among disabled fans and become an inspirational role model for youngsters with disabilities.
