The tie will see the teams go head to head for the second time in two years, the first of which saw the Dons run out 2-1 winners in the FA Cup with Budweiser in December 2012.
“I understand what it means to both sets of fans and I’m looking forward to the tie,” the 33-year-old told mkdons.com.
“I know there will be hype around the game, but we’ll be treating it as any other and, of course, we’ll be looking to progress.
“The way both clubs conducted themselves two years ago was commendable to my knowledge and I hope it will be the same again this time around.”
He added: “It’s an exciting time of the year with the League Cup draw and the fixtures being announced.”
