Midfielder Stephen Gleeson returns to the starting XI following his suspension, as MK Dons make one change ahead of today’s clash with Colchester United.

Gleeson missed Sunday’s trip to Brentford after he picked up his fifth booking of the season three days earlier on Boxing Day. The Irishman replaces Alan Smith in the centre of midfield.

Elsewhere, the Dons remain unchanged as Robinson decides to stick with the same back five which let in three goals at Griffin Park this past weekend. Prior to that defeat to the Bees, though, the defence hadn’t conceded a single goal in four games.

Loanees Samir Carruthers, Dale Jennings and Jordan Spence all start what could be their final home game for the Football Club, with all three players’ loan deals set to expire this weekend.

While the futures of the Carruthers, Jennings and Spence have yet to be decided, today’s game will be Patrick Bamford’s last at stadiummk, with the talented striker set to return to Chelsea on Sunday before joining a Championship side on loan for the remainder of the season.

On the bench for this afternoon are Ian McLoughlin, Tom Flanagan, Alan Smith, Dele Alli, George Baldock, Antony Kay and winger Daniel Powell, who returns to the squad for the first time since picking up an injury in November.

Dean Bowditch (hip) and Luke Chadwick (foot) miss out through injury.

MK Dons (4-2-3-1): Martin; Hodson, Spence, Williams, Lewington (c); Potter, Gleeson; Carruthers, Reeves, Jennings; Bamford.

Subs: McLoughlin (GK), Flanagan, Smith, Alli, Powell, Baldock, Kay.

Colchester United: Walker, Wright, Dickson, Okuonghae, Eastmond, Watt, Bean, Ibehre, Eastman, Wilson (c), Garbutt.

Subs: Cousins (GK), Morrison, Sears, Turgott, Gilbey, Olufemi, Vose.
