MK Dons aren’t in action this weekend but there are still seven other Sky Bet League 1 fixtures to keep an eye on.
It all begins tonight as Brentford look to go top of the table with a win over Gillingham at Griffin Park. With current leaders Leyton Orient not in action until Tuesday, Mark Warburton’s side have the chance to climb to the summit if they can take three points away from the mid-table Gills.
However, if the Bees were to drop points it would allow Wolverhampton Wanderers the opportunity to close the gap on the top two when they face second bottom Bristol City, who themselves can climb out of the relegation zone if they can snatch a win.
Staying at the bottom of the table, Tranmere Rovers could leapfrog Crewe Alexandra and move up as many as six places in the League with a victory at Prenton Park against the Railwaymen.
Elsewhere, play-off chasers Swindon Town and Walsall will be hoping to put pressure on the top six by seeing off Shrewsbury Town and Notts County respectively, while Rotherham United, who occupy that final play-off spot, take on Crawley Town.
Finally, Peterborough United, who moved up to 5th in mid-week with a win over Notts County, travel to Boundary Park to face Oldham Athletic.
So what does that all mean for Karl Robinson’s side? Well, with Bradford City and Colchester United not in action and Coventry City focused on an FA Cup with Budweiser clash with Arsenal tonight, the Dons will remain in tenth regardless of results elsewhere.
However, should Rotherham United see off Crawley at New York Stadium, the men from MK1 would slip 11 points adrift of the play-off places, albeit with a game in hand on the Millers.
