Ref Watch: Wigan Athletic

13 January 2014

James Adcock has been appointed match referee for Tuesday night’s FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round replay between MK Dons and Wigan Athletic.

Promoted to the Football League list of referees in 2011, Adcock has taken charge of XX games during his career, including one FA Cup tie – last season’s goalless draw with Cambridge City in the opening round. Adcock has yet to produce a single card in a game involving the Dons.

This season, the Nottinghamshire official has refereed 17 games, including two FA Cup with Budweiser clashes. Already in 2013/14, Adcock has booked 54 players and sent off four; the most recent of which came in his last match appointment.

That most recent appointment was Southend United’s 4-1 win over Millwall in The FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round earlier this month. Adcock was forced to show six yellow cards that afternoon, as well as give former Dons striker Jermaine Easter his marching orders in the first half for an apparent stamp.

The full list of officials for Tuesday is as follows:
Referee: James Adcock (Nottinghamshire)
Assistant Referees: Marvyn Amphlett (Worcestershire) and David Avent (Northamptonshire)
Fourth Official: Darren Sheldrake (Surrey)
