Ref Watch: Tranmere Rovers

30 January 2014

Mark Haywood will take charge of this weekend’s Sky Bet League 1 clash between MK Dons and Tranmere Rovers.

The West Yorkshire FA official has been in The Football League since 2006 and during his seven-and-a-half seasons he has refereed nine matches involving the Dons, including a clash with this weekend’s opponents, Tranmere, in January 2010.

In total, Haywood has shown 24 yellow cards and just the solitary red card, which was awarded to Clark Keltie in a 1-0 defeat to Darlington back in November 2016. The Dons have won the last three games in which Haywood has been the man in the middle.

So far this season, Haywood has taken charge of 22 fixtures, including five in Sky Bet League 1 and he has booked a total of 53 players and sent off five.

In his most recent appointment, the Sky Bet League 2 clash between AFC Wimbledon and Hartlepool United on Tuesday, Haywood was forced to brandish four yellow cards.

The full list of officials is as follows:
Referee: Mark Haywood (West Yorkshire)
Assistant Referees: Geoffrey Russell (Northamptonshire) and Alan Young (Cambridgeshire)
Fourth Official: Darren Blunden (Kent)
