Trio receive England call-ups

11 February 2014

Dele Alli, Brendan Galloway and Giorgio Rasulo have all been called up by England for forthcoming internationals.

Alli and Galloway will meet up with England Under-18s in a fortnight’s time for a double header with Croatia which will take place at St. George’s Park. The two games will take place on Monday 3rd March and Wednesday 5th March and both players will be free to return in time for MK Dons’ trip to Swindon Town that following weekend.

Alli will be hoping to earn his first Under-18s cap in the two friendly games while Galloway, who has been nominated for Sky Bet League 1 Apprentice of the Year, will be in search of his second. Both players represented England at Under-17s level last season.

Meanwhile, first-year scholar Rasulo has been selected by England Under-17s for forthcoming Algarve tournament.

The 17-year-old, who has made two appearances for MK Dons this season, join his international team-mates on Saturday 22nd February ahead of the tournament which takes place the following Wednesday.

England face the Netherlands, Portugal and Germany in the five day tournament before returning to Milton Keynes on Sunday 2nd March.

Rasulo is the only player in Head Coach John Peacock’s 20-man squad that is playing at a level below the Championship.

These latest call-ups mean that a total of five MK Dons home-grown stars have already received international recognition in 2014, following on from Danny Collinge and Connor Furlong’s call-ups earlier this month.

Furlong took part in a Scotland Under-16s training camp last week while Collinge is currently taking part in the UEFA Development Tournament with England Under-16s. Collinge played 80 minutes in Sunday’s clash with Spain and will be hoping for a second start this evening when England take on Denmark.
