MK Dons Ladies reached the BBFA County Womens Senior Cup final with a fine 5-0 over Stony Stratford Town on Sunday.

Matt French’s side, whose win yesterday came after they saw off Maidenhead United in the Last Eight, will face Woodley United in the Final on Saturday 6th April.

The Dons started brightest on Sunday afternoon and their early pressure finally told in the 23rd minute when Emily Mann struck a sweet volley over the head of the Town ‘keeper to put her side in-front.

Stony Stratford, to their credit, were making things difficult for the Ladies but they did double their lead before the break courtesy of a fine Heather McDonnell (pictured) effort from just inside the penalty area.

Knowing that the first goal after half-time was crucial, French’s side went straight on the attack and from McDonnell's perfectly placed corner they found it through the head of captain Hannah Barrett.

The Dons were in complete control and they banished any hopes the home side may have had of mounting a late comeback when Clair Hollingsworth’s free-kick found Charly Wright and her cross was turned into the net by Eden Washington.

French’s side then completed a five-star performance late-on when the dazzling Wright capped off a fine individual performance to make it 5-0.

The Dons Ladies will now turn their attention back to the League before they face Woodley United in April, following their convincing victory over Bracknell Town.

MK Dons Ladies: Kirby, Clancy, Cutting, Hollingsworth, Howes, Stanton, Barrett, McDonnell, Cudone, Smith, Mann.

Subs: Wright, Bingham, Washington, E Brockwell, M Brockwell.
