MK Dons chief Karl Robinson has called on his side to make more of the dangerous deliveries from dead-ball situations.
"It’s nice we can do something special for his family, Preston North End and the footballing world.”
"We want to celebrate a person’s life who gave so much joy to so many people. I think the man deserves a standing ovation.
"I think it was important that the chairman and the club did something to remember Sir Tom and we came up with the idea of a minute’s applause in the seventh minute.
"He’s not just an iconic figure for Preston fans, he’s a national treasure in the eyes of football,” said the 33-year-old.
In memory of North End and England legend Sir Tom Finney, fans of the two teams are kindly asked to provide a minute’s applause in the seventh minute, the number the winger was best known for wearing during an illustrious career.
He added: "I think there’s an awful lot more players that can contribute in terms of scoring."
"We’ve just got to get our head in there and nick goals. If we start doing that, on top of the other goals we score, we’ll be an even bigger force."
"We need to get a few more from set-pieces – our delivery has been fantastic from Stephen (Gleeson) and (Ben) Reevsey," he told MK Dons Player.
