Ref Watch: Walsall

6 February 2014

James Linington will take charge of MK Dons’ Sky Bet League 1 clash with Walsall this weekend.

Linington has been refereeing in the Football League since 2008 and during his five years of service, Linington has officiated the Dons seven times, showing 24 yellow cards and two red cards.

The most recent of those red cads came in Linington’s last Dons appointment, back in August, when he gave defender Tom Flanagan his marching orders early in the first half following a professional foul on Cody McDonald.

So far in 2013/14, Linington has refereed 23 games and shown 73 yellow and two red cards. Linington’s last appointment was last Friday’s goalless draw between Southend United and Newport County; one player, Lee Minshull was booked that evening.

The full list of officials for this Saturday’s game is as follows:
Referee: James Linington (Isle of Wight)
Assistant referees: Shaun Hudson (Tyne & Wear) and Ian Rathbone (Northamptonshire)
Fourth official: Guy Stretton (Leicestershire)
