Reeves handed first NI call-up

Midfielder Ben Reeves has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the first time ahead of their international friendly with Cyprus next week.

Reeves, who has been in sensational form for the Dons this season, scoring 10 goals in 31 appearances, is part of a 20-man squad named by Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill, who will use the clash as preparation for the Euro 2016 qualifiers which begin in September.

Northern Ireland will also play further friendlies against Uruguay and Chile in May and June respectively.

Goalkeepers: Roy Carroll (Olympiacos), Alan Mannus (St. Johnstone), Michael McGovern (Falkirk).

Defenders: Gareth McAuley (West Brom), Daniel Lafferty (Burnley), Rory McArdle (Bradford City), Ryan McGivern (Hibernian), Craig Cathcart (Blackpool), Alex Bruce (Hull City).

Midfielders: Steven Davis (Southampton), Oliver Norwood (Huddersfield Town), Shane Ferguson (Newcastle United, on loan at Birmingham City), Chris Brunt (West Bromwich Albion), Sammy Clingan (Kilmarnock), Pat McCourt (Barnsley), BEN REEVES (MK DONS).

Forwards: Billy McKay (Inverness CT), Martin Paterson (Huddersfield Town), Jamie Ward (Derby County), Niall McGinn (Aberdeen), Dean Shiels (Rangers), Kyle Lafferty (Palermo).

Defender Lee Hodson, who made five caps for Northern Ireland in 2013, is not included in the squad on this occasion due to a hip injury.
