Match preview: Sheffield United

MK Dons will be looking to make it back-to-back successes when Sheffield United visit stadiummk on Saturday (k.o. 3pm).

After seeing off Oldham Athletic 2-1 in midweek, Karl Robinson’s men turn their attention to the Blades as they aim to keep up the pressure on the top eight.
Nigel Clough’s side have been in fine form of late, recording six straight victories which has seen them rise to 12th in Sky Bet League 1 and reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Robinson told MK Dons Player: “Sheffield United are a massive football club. They’ve got some very talented players with (Michael) Doyle in midfield, (Harry) Maguire at the back and the boys in the wide areas.

“They’ve had a wonderful cup run and that’s propelled them in the league, but my main focus is MK Dons, not Sheffield United.”

from the past triumphs over the Blades, including the 1-0 win at Bramall Lane earlier this season thanks to Antony Kay's header. highlights and Luke Chadwick with a two-week trial. Also check out an exclusive chat with FREE Watch Karl’s full interview for

Clough told BBC Radio Sheffield: “They're a dangerous side and probably one of the best passing sides in the division.

“Hopefully they'll be worried about us as we go there on the back of a six-match winning run.”

Team news

Fifteen-year-old Danny Collinge has been named in the squad for the first time, but the Dons are without Stephen Gleeson (thigh), while Ben Reeves (calf) is tough and go.

Darren Potter (Achilles), Dean Bowditch (groin) and Tom Flanagan (knee) remain longer-term absentees.

Robinson said: “For us to still be producing with a small squad and the injury problems we’ve got, it’s a tremendous testament to the players.

“We’ve got to continue to be mentally strong to deal with the adversity that comes, in our case the injuries at the moment.”

The Blades are hopeful of having midfielder Stephen McGinn (back) available again and even though centre-back Maguire (knee) is a doubt, he should play.
