Collinge drafted into England squad

5 February 2014

MK Dons’ young defender Danny Collinge has been drafted into the England Under-16s squad for the upcoming UEFA Development Tournament.

MK Dons’ young defender Danny Collinge has been drafted into the England Under-16s squad for the upcoming UEFA Development Tournament.

Collinge, who was originally placed on standby, has been called-up by Head Coach Kenny Swain to join the 20-man squad ahead of their opening fixture against Spain this Sunday.

After doing battle with the Spaniards, the Young Lions will then take on Denmark two days later before playing Belgium in their final match on Friday 14th. All three games will take place at St. George’s Park.

The tournament provides the youngsters with the ideal warm-up ahead of April’s Montaigu Tournament in France.

This news comes just a day after it was announced Brendan Galloway and Connor Furlong were to link up with England Under-18s and Scotland Under-16s respectively.

Collinge, Galloway and Furlong are three of seven MK Dons academy stars to have received international recognition this season.
