Robbo reflects on PNE point

15 December 2014

Karl Robinson was left with mixed emotions following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Preston North End.

Aspects of his side’s display disappointed him but he was, understandably, pleased to extend the unbeaten league run to 10 games – a club record at League 1 level.

"I thought it was a very hard-fought point," said the 34-year-old. "We’ve played Sheffield United away and Preston away and we’ve got four points out of that.

"It’s a club record of being undefeated in League 1 and it’s not a bad record.

"I was disappointed with the goal and we rode our luck with Kevin Davies’ header. He said that he let us off the hook with that header after the game and he did.

"I thought we edged the first half and I thought they certainly edged the second half – we stopped playing and played into their hands with a lot of long balls.

"The hunger and desire was magnificent and it shows you when we’re disappointed with a point."

He concluded: "We’re not as big as Preston, Sheffield United and Bristol City yet but there’s a massive heart about the club.

"These games are defined by very small margins - these are big games and we’re all in the mix."
