Karl looking at the bigger picture

29 December 2014

Karl Robinson admitted his weren’t at the races on Sunday, but was keen to point to the bigger picture.

The Dons boss was understandably disappointed as he watched his side beaten 3-0 by Walsall at stadiummk but with the defeat only their first in 13 games, Robinson refused to get too despondent.

“It wasn’t good enough, the result will tell you that,” he told MK Dons Player after the match. “We know what we weren’t at our best today and obviously I’m gutted and deeply disappointed.

“You’ve got to say well done and take your hat off to Walsall but we weren’t three goals worse than them – it certainly shouldn’t have been that scoreline.

He continued: “We’re going to have to take the bigger picture out of this one. If you’d have offered anybody at this Football Club one defeat out of 13, we would have taken it.

“We need to now be proud of the run we’ve been on and look to go on an even better one next time. I’m not going to hand my players out to dry because they’ve been sensational. I’m sure they’ll respond in the right way because they always do.

“I’m looking forward to the forthcoming weeks and months where we’ll look to develop and get even better.”
