Benik Afobe has been named in the Sky Bet Football League Team of the Week following his hat-trick in Saturday’s win over Colchester United.
The striker scored twice in the first half before adding a third shortly after the re-start to complete his first professional hat-trick and take his tally for the season to 18 in just 23 appearances.

Sky Bet Football League weren’t the only ones to recognise Afobe for his stunning display, however, as Shoot Magazine also named the 21-year-old as their Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Weekend, while Dons midfielder Dele Alli walked away with their Goal of the Weekend title.
Alli’s strike, which opened the scoring for Karl Robinson’s men, drew comparisons to Steven Gerrard’s stunning winner in the 2006 FA Cup final from Dons boss Robinson.
