Robbo: Players are feeling positive

19 August 2014

Karl Robinson says his players are going into tonight’s clash with Chesterfield in a positive frame of mind.

The Dons, who beat Gillingham on opening day, fell to their first defeat of the season on Saturday, losing 3-2 to Peterborough United at London Road.

Despite the defeat, Robinson insists his team are relishing the chance to get back to winning ways and collect their first away points of the year.

He told MK Dons Player: “Coming back in this week there is still a lot of hope and optimism around the place and everyone appears to be in a positive frame of mind.

“We feel if we perform like we did at Peterborough every week then we’ll win more games than we lose. In football, you don’t get a chance to celebrate wins but you do have the chances to put losses to bed very quickly.

“There an awful lot of positives to take into the game against Chesterfield. They’re a good side but we’re looking forward to the challenge and hopefully we can put our first away points on the board.

“We want to go there and perform to the levels we want to perform. If we can do that, we feel we’ve got the ability in the squad to score goals and win games.”
