Chairman Pete Winkelman says he is ‘hugely excited’ about tonight’s Capital One Cup tie with Manchester United.
“We’re hugely excited,” Winkelman told MK Dons Player. “There’s just no bigger game that we could have had. It’s a dream come true. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they’re going to be here at stadiummk."
He continued: “I hope that people who are coming here for the first time will enjoy the thrill of live football here in Milton Keynes. Sometimes it does take a Manchester United to get people into the ground but I hope, after visiting, that they’ll come back again.
“I was amazed by the demand and queues for tickets, I’d never seen anything like it. It really showed me the bright future this club could have.
“This game is all about trying to grow and develop the Club. What we’re trying to build, over time, is a culture and we need events like this to do that.”
