Karl Robinson believes his side’s performance in the goalless draw with Coventry City on Saturday deserved more than just a point.
“I’m not too despondent because the players played well,” Robinson told MK Dons Player after the game. “I thought we performed really well, it was just a case of missing gilt-edged chances.
“There were a lot of positives to take from the game. I thought the back four looked very strong - George Baldock, in particular, was very good. I also thought Powelly had his best game for a while and two clean sheets on the spin is plus too.
He continued: “It’s disappointing that we’ve only taken two points from the last two Saturdays because our performances have deserved so much more. However, if we play like that most weeks then we’ll win more games than we lose.”
Next up for Robinson and his side is the eagerly-anticipated Capital One Cup tie with Manchester United, but the Dons boss insists he will be keeping one eye focused on next weekend’s visit of Crawley Town in the league.
“I’ve got to have one eye on the Crawley game when I select my team for Tuesday night, with all due respect. We want to pick up two points per game so after this draw we need a victory next Saturday.”
