Ref Watch: Coventry City

3 April 2014

Graham Horwood will take charge of MK Dons’ Sky Bet League 1 clash with Coventry City at Sixfields this Saturday.

The Bedfordshire FA official, who joined the Football League in 2007, will referee only his third Dons fixture on the weekend, having overseen the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Northampton Town earlier in the season and the 2-1 win over Leyton Orient back in 2009.

Despite only refereeing the Dons on two previous occasions, Horwood has still shown a total of nine yellow cards and one red card in matches involving the men from MK1 – the solitary sending off coming in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Sixfields with Ishmael Demontagnac the man dismissed.

That 2-1 Dons win was one of 23 games Horwood has taken charge of this season and one of only two games where he’s been forced to produce a red card. In total, Horwood has booked 72 players and sent off two this season.

Horwood’s last match appointment came at the end of the last month when he oversaw Sheffield United’s 2-0 win over Crawley Town. Horwood booked three players that evening.

The full list of officials for Saturday is as follows:
Referee: Graham Horwood (Bedfordshire)
Assistant Referee 1: Alan Clayton (Cheshire)
Assistant Referee 2: Steven Meredith (Nottinghamshire)
Fourth Official: Andy Newbold (Leicestershire)
