Galloway and England stun Germany

17 April 2014

Brendan Galloway helped England Under-18s pull off a remarkable 2-1 victory over Germany on Wednesday night.

The Young Lions dominated the first half at Rotherham’s New York Stadium but fell behind when 1. FSV Mainz’s Patrick Pflucke stole in to score from close range.

However two England substitutes, Dean Rittenberg and Harry Winks, delivered second-half goals to seal a memorable victory and send a 9,119 crowd home happy.

Galloway started in defence for Neil Dewsnip’s side alongside Reading’s Robert Dickie and played the full 90 minutes, earning his seventh England cap in the process.

The LFE League 1 Apprentice of the Year will now re-join the Dons ahead of the Good Friday clash with Port Vale, along with Dele Alli, who was selected in the squad but didn’t feature.
