The experienced Scott Mathieson will take charge of this Saturday’s Sky Bet League 1 clash between MK Dons and Notts County.
Mathieson, 50, has been a Football League official since 1997 and during his 16 years as a referee he has officiated 10 games involving the Dons. Two of Mathieson’s 10 Dons appointments came last season, in the 2-1 FA Cup win over AFC Wimbledon and the 3-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth.
During those ten games, Mathieson showed 23 yellow cards and two red cards – Izale McLeod and Ryan Lowe the unfortunate duo who were given their marching orders by the Cheshire-based official.
Last season, Mathieson refereed 38 games, booking 105 players and sending off eight. This campaign, though, Mathieson has brandished just five yellow cards in three games.
