With a brand new home at the arena : stadiummk, the English National Badminton Championships are set to arrive in their home city of Milton Keynes from 8-9th February 2014.

A wealth of English badminton talent will be on show and spectators can witness in action London 2012 Olympian and Commonwealth silver medallist Rajiv Ouseph, who will be bidding for his 7th consecutive National singles title.
The annual Championships which showcase the best badminton talent in England will be the first major sporting event to be held at the arena : stadiummk, home of MK Dons Football Club.
In an exciting time for the sport, the move also follows the announcement of planning approval for a new £22 million National Badminton Arena at The National Bowl in Milton Keynes.
Nicola Moloney, Head of Major Events and Competitions at BADMINTON England, said: “I am really looking forward to hosting the Nationals in a brand new venue which will help to promote the sport to a whole new audience.
“Bringing a major event to the home of badminton in Milton Keynes is very exciting and with it being the venue’s first major sporting event, it will be great to showcase the sport in a different environment.”
MK Dons Chairman, Pete Winkelman, said: “It is very exciting to see tickets for the English National Badminton Championships on sale as it makes the whole thing real. It is also a great landmark for the arena : stadiummk as the Championships will hopefully be the first of many major sporting events to be held in the venue.
