Lewis' Flag tour

13 September 2013

Lewis’ tour will arrive at stadiummk on Saturday to raise awareness of a rare genetic condition and pay tribute to a four-year-old boy who lost his battle with the condition on September 27th in 2006.

In 2003 Lewis was diagnosed withKrabbe Leukodystrophy but sadly lost his fight three years later. His family have decided to keep his memory alive and came up with the Lewis’ Flag Tour, which sees them visit all 92 Premier League and Football League grounds.

Speaking to mkdons.com Lee ONeill said:“We are all from Redditch in Worcs and in 2003 Lewis was diagnosed with the rare genetic condition Krabbe Leukodystrophy. Lewis was a fighter and he battled his condition until September 27th 2006 when he finally closed his eyes for one final time.

“He was just four years old. We wanted to keep his memory alive and came up with Lewis' Flag Tour which would see us visit all 92 league clubs with his flag. We like to think where ever we go Lewis is there with us. Today will be ground number 78. We also follow England home and away with his flag. You can follow our story on twitter @LewisDenholm.”
