MK Dons Ladies extended their unbeaten run to three games on Saturday, with a 2-2 draw at home to Denham.
John Dyer’s side, who had picked up four points from six heading into last weekend’s match, took to the field at Newport Pagnell Football Club boosted by the return of several key players.
And, after a tight first half ended goalless, they quickly raced into a two-goal lead following the re-start courtesy of a well-taken low shot from Heather McDonnel and another fine strike.
The Dons, however, lost duo Charly Wright and Kara Howes to injury in the second half and matters where later made worse when, in nine minutes of stoppage time, Denham snatched a point with two goals from two set-pieces.
Although disappointed and frustrated to walk away with only a point, there is plenty to positive about for the Ladies, who find themselves in third place in the South East Combination League, with an exciting friendly against Chelsea Ladies lined up for next week.
