MK Dons players and staff took time out of their busy training schedule on Wednesday to compete in the MK Dons Annual Golf Classic at Mentmore Golf and Country Club.
Several members of the first team squad, along with some of Club’s key commercial partners, took part in the yearly event, which was sponsored by Case Security.
Manager Karl Robinson led the way throughout most of the day and despite competition from Damien Doyle the Liverpudlian held on to secure the Highest Scoring Captain accolade with 41 points and help his team, FSG Property Services, finish as winners. Not only did Robinson walk away with the afternoon’s top prize but he also, hands down, won the best outfit with his bright choice of shirt.
Keen golfers Shaun Williams, Dean Lewington, Alan Smith and Darren Potter all took part in the event as well as Ben Reeves and Danny Green, who were competing in their first MK Dons Annual Golf Classic.
Although an enjoyable and relaxing day out, Robinson is fully aware of the importance the event has on the Club.
He told MK Dons Player: “These are events are important and it’s nice to spend time with the fans, every year, and also those who put money towards the Football Club.
“To be fair to the boys, they all came out and played, some not as good as others, but they all understand the reasons behind being here.”
