Dean Whitestone will take charge of this weekend’s Sky Bet League 1 clash between MK Dons and Walsall at stadiummk.

The Northamptonshire-based official has been refereeing in the Football League since 2005 having spent two seasons prior to then, in the Football Conference.

During his time in the Football League, Whitestone has officiated six games involving the Dons, including the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Semi-Final against Gillingham in 2008.

In total, Whitestone has booked 20 players in games involving the Dons and sent off two; Peterborough United’s Shane Blackett in 2007 and winger Daniel Powell in the 1-0 victory over Sheffield United two seasons ago.

Whitestone has refereed 11 games already this season, four of which have come in Sky Bet League 1. Whitestone has shown 30 yellow cards and three red cards in 2013/14.

His last appointment was to this past weekend’s League 2 match-up between AFC Wimbledon and Oxford United. Whitestone brandished just two yellow cards in that game.
