Luton Ladies 1 MK Dons Ladies 1

17 October 2013

MK Dons Ladies shared a 1-1 draw with local rivals Luton Town on Wednesday evening.

The Ladies travelled to Luton knowing a win would lift them to forth in the table. The Dons Ladies were boosted by the return of captain Hannah Barret in midfield, new signing Hannah Clancy debuting at right-back and new goalkeeper Clare Farron deputizing for the missing Trip Witney.

The hosts started strongly as they got into their stride early and dominated the opening stages. There was nothing to separate the sides at half-time as they shared a goalless draw but it was Luton who struck first with Lauren Goodier firing an excellent goal from distance.

Falling a goal down appeared to be the catalyst the Dons Ladies needed to kick into life and they soon dominated possession and the chances. A great free-kick from Emily Ingle pulled the scores level, but the Dons Ladies were unable to find a winner. Instead, they had to settle for their fourth draw of the season.

The Ladies are back in action on Saturday when they play host to Queens Park Rangers at Newport Pagnell FC’s Willen Road. Kick-off is 2pm, tickets £2 for Adults and £1 for Under-16s.

MK Dons Ladies: Farron, Clancy, Butterwick, Hollingsworth, Cutting, Barrett, McDonnell, Wright, Mann, Bingham, Ingle.

Subs: Turner, E Brockwell, M Brockwell, Kirby.
