International Dons

MK Dons youngster Kevin Danso made another appearance for Austria Under-16s on Thursday, in their 3-2 defeat to Denmark.

After suffering a 2-0 loss to the Danes earlier in the week, in the first of two meetings between the sides, Danso and Austria were looking to bounce back yesterday by equalling the series at one a-piece.

And the young Austrian side made a strong start, racing into a two-goal lead courtesy of Arnel Jakupovic and Bayern Munich starlet Marco Friedl.

Denmark, though, pulled a goal back just prior to interval before two goals in as many minutes saw them go ahead with just 13 minutes left to play, Mathias Bonde securing the victory for the Scandinavians.

Danso, who collected his fifth and sixth international caps this week, was introduced on 54 minutes by Austrian Head Coach Manfred Zsak but the Dons schoolboy couldn’t prevent the side from falling to the slender defeat.

*In international action for the Dons today are defenders Lee Hodson and Brendan Galloway, who will be looking to feature for Northern Ireland and England Under-18s respectively.

Hodson and the Northern Irish will be looking to end their FIFA World Cup 2014 Qualifying campaign on a high by beating Azerbaijan, in a match which will be shown live on Sky Sports. Galloway, meanwhile, will be looking to play some part in the Young Lions' behind-closed-doors friendly with Hungary at St. George's Park. Fellow Dons youngster Dele Alli was also meant to  be involved but had to withdraw due to injury.
