The number of people relying on food banks to survive has tripled in the last year, according to figures released by the Tressell Trust.
Supporters of MK Dons can help boost supplies for The Food Bank this Saturday by bringing a tin or other non-perishable goods. The Food Bank will be present at the Citizen Family Dons Big Day collecting dried, tinned and other long life food items that will go out to families and individuals around the city.
You can help make a difference in the community by just bringing along one or two items. The Food Bank are particularly low on long-life juice, milk, rice pudding and tinned fish. The Food Bank team will be positioned outside the Box Office so please pay them a visit.
This year, the Food Bank has seen more than 350,000 food parcels issued across the country this year. All it takes is a sudden, unexpected event – a bereavement, change in income, redundancy or theft – to throw people into a genuine crisis.
Help them to ensure no child or adult goes to bed hungry in our city!
