Dons join Paint Pot challenge fun

5 October 2013

MK Dons will become the second Sky Bet League 1 club to put their skills to the test this season when they take the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge on Monday.

Karl Robinson’s side warm up for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round tie at Stevenage on Tuesday night by taking part in the unique test of accuracy.

Ten members of the MK Dons squad will attempt to chip the ball from the angle of the 18-yard box into a giant inflatable paint pot placed on the six yard line.

They will be joined by avid Dons fan Kevin Brown who was the winner of the special Johnstone’s Paint Trophy 11th man competition, allowing one lucky supporter to join up with the Dons squad for the Challenge.

“I moved to Milton Keynes just over 12 months ago and all the family immediately fell in love with MK Dons,” said 45-year-old Kevin who works for the fire service.

“We became season ticket holders after watching just two games and can’t get enough of it now. To get the chance to join the squad for the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge will be a fantastic experience and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”

Clubs around the country will take part in the challenge over the coming months, all aiming to emulate last season’s winners Oxford United to claim the top prize of Johnstone’s Paint product to use on a club project.

The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy team will be on hand to capture all of the action on camera, with the videos being posted on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/OfficialJPT

Wolverhampton Wanderers were the first club to take the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge this season, scoring four points.

Ben Wilde, Brand and Sponsorship Manager for Johnstone’s Paint, said: “The Paint Pot Challenge has got off to a great start with Wolves and now MK Dons taking part. MK Dons will be keen to get to the top of the leaderboard and give themselves a timely boost ahead of their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game the following day.”
