Potts to keep an eye on play-offs

2 May 2013

It may be the first time in three years that MK Dons have not been involved in the play-offs, but that won’t quell the interest for Darren Potter.

The MK Dons midfielder is a football fanatic who lives and breathes the game, and he takes in almost any match on TV, regardless of the teams, division or nation involved.

While watching the play-offs will be a painful reminder of the side’s failure this season, Potter remains a football fan at heart who enjoys the drama that comes at the end of the regular season.

This year League 1 has been particularly eventful and the Dons, who finished eighth in the table, managed to record home wins against all four teams competing in them.

However, Brentford, Yeovil and Swindon all defeated the Dons on their travels while Sheffield United claimed a point from the men from MK1, which highlights how open the League has been.

Potter though, believes there is a surprise in the pack. He told mkdons.com:  “I will be watching the play-offs; it can be a long time without football when the season is over so I will keep a close-eye on it.

“I will look forward to watching them; I think it is a difficult call especially in our League as it’s been a topsy-turvy year.

“I have a sneaky feeling that the outsiders Yeovil might just do it and shock a lot of people.”
