3 May 2013

MK Dons have today (Friday) taken up the one-year options on the contracts of both Dean Bowditch and Shaun Williams.

With both players’ deals set to expire this summer, the Club have exercised the 12-month option on their current terms.

The move sees both Bowditch and Williams, who, combined, scored 18 goals for Karl Robinson’s side last season, extend their stay at stadiummk until June 2014.

Williams joined the Dons as a free agent in March 2011 and has since gone on to feature over 100 times for the Club, netting on 15 occasions.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-23 international’s versatility have proven to be a huge asset for manager Robinson during his two seasons with the Club and his excellent performances this past campaign saw him named both Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year at last week’s Awards Night.

Bowditch was another free agent signing for the Dons, this time in the summer of 2011. The ex-Ipswich trainee has lead the goal-scoring charts both seasons he has been at MK1 having tallied 15 goals in just over 50 games in 2011/12 before finding the net 12 times last campaign.
