Dons to take on Barnet

31 May 2013

MK Dons will make their first trip to the new Barnet stadium, The Hive, when they take on the Bees in a pre-season friendly.

On Saturday 27th July, the Dons will travel to North-West London to face Edgar Davids’ side at their new 5,100 capacity stadium in Canon Park.

The Bees, who were relegated from the Football League on the final day of this season, were pre-season opponents for the Dons two years ago in a match which finished 1-1 thanks to then-Barnet striker Izale McLeod’s second-half equaliser.

This time, though, McLeod will be in Dons colours along with defender Tom Flanagan who returns to the club he spent the latter part of 2012/13 season with. Flanagan made nine appearances for the Greater London side as they just missed out on another final-day survival.

Ticket details for this game will be announced on mkdons.com in due course.

The Barnet game is the fourth pre-season friendly to be confirmed this so far, following on from the news that the Dons will travel to local sides Newport Pagnell Town, Leighton Town and Brackley Town in early-July. Further pre-season games will be confirmed on mkdons.com in the coming weeks.
