13 May 2013

MK Dons SET 5-Nations Cycle Challenge team needs you! Or rather, your help with transport, please?

The MK Dons Sport and Education Trust (SET) are cycling 5-Nations to raise money for disability football.

Four MK Dons SET employees along with nine daring volunteers will take on the 5-Nations on bikes. In just eight days the ride will cover 725 miles cycling from Milton Keynes to Scotland, onward via the ferry to Northern Ireland, down to the Republic of Ireland and back on the ferry to Wales, eventually finishing back in Milton Keynes.

The challenge will take place from 1st June to 8th June 2013. In the build up to the challenge the MK Dons SET has also launched its cycle club sponsored by Trek UK.

MK Dons SET runs 16 Disability Football Team’s. Not only making positive changes to these peoples lives by promoting sporting opportunities but has also supported individuals to build confidence to make life changing decisions, build confidence and take up paid employment.

Karl White, Inclusion Officer for the SET, said: “The ride will continue to widen all of our horizons, challenging and pushing our ability just as our dedicated disability team players do.”

Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education Trust is much more than just football.

However the 5-Nations Cyclists are in need of a long wheel base, high top van as a support vehicle, to enable them to complete the ride. If you are able to help with this please contact Karl White on 01908 622938 or 07595 280612.
