Ref Watch: Colchester United

21 March 2013

Referee James Linington will take charge of this weekend’s fixture with Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Linington has been officiating in the Football League since 2008 and during that time he has overseen five Dons matches. The Dons have never lost with Linington as the referee.

The Isle of Wight-based whistle-blower has shown a total of 18 yellow cards in matches involving the men from MK1, half of which were shown to Dons players. Linington has only ever sent off one player in a Dons match after Andy Frampton was given his marching orders for Swindon in a 1-0 Dons win back in 2010.

This season, Linington has marshalled a total of 10 games and has booked 21 players. Linington is yet to brandish a red card this campaign. His last appointment came earlier this week when he took charge of the Tuesday night clash between Southend and Plymouth, showing only one yellow card.

The full list of officials is as follows:

Referee: James Linington (Isle of Wight)
Assistant referees: Wade Norcott (Essex) and Stephen Rubery (Essex)
Matt Foley (Foley)Fourth official:
