Ref Watch: Brentford

31 March 2013

Referee Stephen Martin will take charge of Monday’s mouth-watering clash with Brentford at stadiummk.

Martin, who has been officiating in the Football League since 2009, will take charge of his first ever Dons match tomorrow afternoon. The festive fixture will also be the first time Martin has overseen a game involving Brentford.

So far this season, the Staffordshire-based whistle-blower has umpired 24 games and has shown 54 yellow cards and one red card. The solitary sending off came back in August, when Dons defender Tom Flanagan was given his marching orders after picking up two bookings while on loan at Gillingham.

Martin’s last appointment was this past weekend when he refereed Preston North End’s goalless draw with Leyton Orient at Deepdale. Four bookings were given out by Martin that afternoon.

The officials for Monday are as follows:

Referee: Stephen Martin (Staffordshire)
Assistant referees: John Brooks (Leicestershire) and Andy Hendley (West Midlands)
Sian Massey (West Midlands)Fourth official:
