Kay hit with three-game ban

21 March 2013

Following his dismissal on Tuesday night, defender Antony Kay has been suspended for three matches, the Football Association (FA) has confirmed.

Kay was given his marching orders by referee Tim Robinson after picking up two bookings in the 2-1 defeat to Crewe Alexandra earlier this week. That red card was the Barnsley-born centre-back’s third of the season and, as such, he will now serve a three-game suspension.

The ban means Kay will miss the League 1 clash with Colchester United this weekend as well as the Easter fixtures against Hartlepool United and Brentford. The 30-year-old will be eligible for the home tie with Crawley Town on Saturday 6th April.
