The talismanic midfielder started the season in sensation form with a string of impressive performances and by late November Luke had notched up eight goals, a tally that sees him remain as the joint-second highest goal scorer for the Dons this year.

The 32-year-old was also handed the captain’s armband earlier in the year when the Dons travelled to his hometown Cambridge to play City in the FA Cup with Budweiser.

However, the playmaker’s excellent season was hampered when a knee injury ruled him out for six weeks. Luke’s influence on the Dons’ free-flowing football was highlighted during his time on the sidelines as the team missed his creative spark.
Chadwick, who initially joining the Dons on loan from Norwich City in October 2008 and signed permanently the following January, is a firm favourite amongst the home faithful thanks to his incredible work ethic and commitment to the side.

The Cambridge-born forward has since gone on to make a total of 210 appearances, making him the second highest appearance maker for the Club. The former Manchester United winger has also netted on 20 occasions.

Manager Karl Robinson also revealed his delight at securing number 26’s services for a further two years: “Luke Chadwick is an incredible athlete, an incredible professional and an incredible man to work with.

“He leads from the front with his performances and commitment to the team. Every game, without fail, Luke will run himself into the ground to do his best for his team-mates and the Club. I am thrilled he has committed to two more seasons with us.

“When Luke Chadwick is at his best, the team is at its best.”
