Glees features in physio's testimonial

10 July 2013

Stephen Gleeson played 15 minutes for a Stockport County XI on Tuesday evening, in Hatters' physio Rodger Wylde’s testimonial match.

The testimonial, which saw a Stockport representative side go up against Sheffield Wednesday, honoured the hard work and dedication of County’s club physio Wylde, who has been working at Edgeley Park for 25 years.

Gleeson, who made 14 appearances while on loan with the Hatters in 2008, came on as a 30th minute substitute for Stockport but couldn’t prevent them falling to a 3-0 loss. Gleeson was joined by many former team-mates yesterday evening including Barnsley’s David Perkins, Brighton’s Gary Dicker and Leon McSweeney, recently of Leyton Orient.

Having been given special dispensation to play in the game by manager Karl Robinson, Gleeson will now re-join his Dons team-mates in Dublin ahead of their third and final overseas friendly this afternoon, which will be played behind closed doors.
