Zeli sees out season with Dons

4 January 2013

MK Dons have today re-signed Zeli Ismail on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.

The midfielder originally joined the Dons on the eve of the loan window in late November and the deal expired on Wednesday however, Ismail has impressed manager Karl Robinson enough to warrant an extended stay in Milton Keynes.

Ismail has made seven appearances for the Dons, including one start, and has been a strong asset to Robinson’s side with his raw pace and flair on the ball.

The Albanian-born 19-year-old has a rising reputation in the game having come through the youth system at Wolves to sign his first professional deal in 2010.

A former-England Under-17 international, Ismail has already featured for the Wolves first team, coming on as a substitute in the Capital One Cup defeat to Chelsea and was recently rewarded with a new two-and-a-half year deal at the Molineux.

Ismail’s loan with the Dons will run until the end of the season, including the play-offs if required. Subject to clearance from the FA, he will be available for the FA Cup with Budweiser match against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.
