Experienced Scott Mathieson has been appointed referee for this weekend’s clash between MK Dons and AFC Bournemouth.
Mathieson, who has been officiating in the Football League since 1997, has taken charge of nine Dons games including the play-off semi finals away at Scunthorpe United and Huddersfield Town.
In total, Mathieson has shown 10 yellow cards to Dons players as well as sending off Izale McLeod for a dangerous tackle in a 1-0 defeat to Hartlepool United back in 2007.
Mathieson’s last Dons appointment came earlier this season when he umpired the historic FA Cup tie with AFC Wimbledon, in which the Dons won 2-1.
This season the Cheshire-based referee has overseen 26 games, booking 26 players while showing seven red cards. Last time out, Mathieson showed two yellow cards and one red card in Blackpool United’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers – Mathieson giving Wolves defender Roger Johnson his marching orders in the closing minutes of the match following an altercation with Angel Martinez.
