McLoughlin saddles up with Walsall

13 January 2013

Ian McLoughlin has today joined Walsall on an emergency loan which will keep him with the West Midlands club until 9th February.

The young Dons goalie has been drafted in by the Saddlers, who had goalie Karl Darlow recalled to Nottingham Forest during the week, and is available to play a part in their match against Preston North End this afternoon.

The Dons number two, who chalked up two appearances off the bench last season, made his full debut for the Club earlier this season when he started in the Capital One Cup against Sunderland.

McLoughlin, a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, linked up with his Walsall team-mates for training ahead of their trip to Preston.

The 21-year-old makes the temporary switch to The Banks’s Stadium in search of gaining valuable first team match experience. Earlier in his career the stopper spent time on loan with Lowestoft Town and Stockport County.
