Alli gets England U17s call

22 January 2013

MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli has been called up to the England Under-17s squad ahead of their Algarve tournament next month.

The first year scholar, who has featured four times for the first team this season, has been called up to the England squad for a five-day tournament against Portugal, Netherlands and Germany in February.

Alli is the only player in the 20-man squad currently playing for a Club outside the Premier League or Championship.

The tournament, which takes place from Friday 8th to Tuesday 12th February, will commence with England going head to head with Germany. The young Lions will then come up against Portugal on Sunday before their tournament ends against the Netherlands on the final day.

Alli, who netted his first senior goal in the FA Cup with Budweiser first round replay against Cambridge City at stadiummk, has caught the eye of head coach John Peakcock following established performances for the Dons senior team and the Under-18s.

Earlier this season Alli linked up with the Under-17s during their Nordic Tournament.
